Practical Aspects of Fire Investigation
Thank you to everyone who attended our May 2017 seminar. During this five-day program, students reinforced their understanding of basic investigative methodology as well as learned failure analysis tools such as arc mapping, depth of calcination plotting, flame vector analysis and origin matrices. Teams then applied their skills to five mock fire scenes and prepared comprehensive, well documented reports. It was a fun and educational week (even in the rain!).
A special thank you to all the instructors who donated their time and knowledge, especially Thomas Sing of Quest Fire Analysis. The RI IAAI would also like to thank Union Fire District for the use of their training facility.
